| LOK Adalat settles 250 cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 25: A Permanent Lok-Adalat was held today in the District Court Complex Janipur Jammu under the chairmanship of AK Shan Principal District and sessions Judge Jammu who is also Chairman District legal Service Authority. Four Benches were constituted in this Lok Adalat in which 347 cases taken and 250 cases decided.
Bench No 1 comprising AK Shan Principal District & Sessions Judge and Sanjay Parihar Presiding officer MACT Jammu. Twenty-seven cases were taken up. Eight were settled and compensation awarded to the tune of Rs 24.50 lacs. This Bench also took 6 pre-litigation and 15post litigation bank cases out of which one pre litigation and 10 post litigation cases were settled and awarded Rs 23, 27, 623.
Bench No 2 was comprising MS Parihar CJM Jammu and YP Kotwal Special Mobile Magistrate Passanger Tax took up 33 cases and decided 8 cases of petty criminal matters.
Bench No 3 comprised RN Wattal Special Electricity Magistrate and Surinder Singh City Judge Jammu, bench took up 66 cases and decided 21 cases of Electricity Court and 2 of Passanger Tax Court cases.
Bench NO 4 presided over by Naushad Ahmed Khan Additional Mobile Magistrate Traffic Jammu, this Bench taken up 200 traffic cases and disposed of all the cases. JNF
