| Dwivedi reviews Eid arrangements | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 25: District Development Commissioner, Jammu, M.K. Dwivedi today convened a meeting of officers of various departments and prominent citizens to discuss the arrangements for the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Discussions were held on making adequate security arrangements, proper management of traffic and parking, ensuring regular power and water supply, and provision for healthcare facilities at the Eidgahs around the Jammu city.
The DDC directed the CAPD authorities to ensure availability of essential commodities in the markets and keep strict vigil on the implementation of rates fixed by the department. He stressed for proper monitoring of quantity and quality of the commodities. He laid special stress on strengthening the enforcement wings of the department to keep regular check on rates and asked the said that the rate lists should be properly displayed at all the outlets.
Dwivedi directed the Health Department to keep well equipped ambulances and adequate staff available at the prominent places where prayers would be offered on Eid.
The DDC informed that electronic device, mobile phones, cigarette and match box or nay other objectionable items would not be allowed in Eid Gah. He said that people should desist from bringing such items to avoid any conveniences.
