| Skating: Anshul of KV-1 Jammu wins U-17 rink race-II | | 41st KVS Regional Sports Meet | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, August 26: Anshul Abrol of host KV-1 Jammu bagged gold in under-17 quads rink race-II in the KVS Regional Sports Meet in boys skating event underway at MA Stadium, here today.
Second place went to Varinder Singh of KV-Amritsar while Jobanjeet Singh of KV-1 Amritsar remained third. Nikhil Sopori of KV Sunjuwan finished fourth.
In under-14 age group of quads rink rack-II, again KV-1 bagged gold when Shayam Chauhan emerged the winner. Saniv Gupta of the same school bagged second position, followed by Sakasteen of KV-3 Amritsar, who finished third.

Under-11 year Rink Race-II Quads: Abhishek Gupta, KV-2 Jammu, Ist; Akshun Sharma, KV Sunjwan, 2nd; Bhavraj Shikhawat, KV-3 Amritsar, third and Navtej Singh, KV-3, Amritsar, fourth.
Under-19 year Rink Race-II Quads: Mohit Dogra, KV Amritsar, Ist; Karan Atwal, KV-3 Amritsar, 2nd and Ashutosh Singh, KV-1, Amritsar, third.
Under-17 year Rink Race-II Quads: Anshul Abrol, KV-1 Jammu, Ist; Varinder Singh, KV-3 Amritsar, 2nd; Jobanjeet Singh, KV-1 Amristar, 3rd and Nikhil Sopori, KV Sunjwan, fourth.
Under-14 year Rink Race-II Quads: Shyam Chauhan, KV-1 Jammu, Ist; Saniv Gupta, KV-I Jammu, 2nd and Sakasteen, KV-3 Amritsar, third.
SHOOTING: In the ongoing girls shooting competitions of KVS Regional Sports meet, only one Vidyalaya turned up. Being held at J&K Police shooting range at Gulshan Ground here, all the eight participating girls from KV Pathankot are taking part in both rifle and air pistol events. “The finals results of the air pistol event are expected tomorrow,” said competition incharge at the shooting range, Rajesh Virdhi.
CHESS: First three rounds completed today in all three age groups of under-19, under-17 and under-14 in the KVS Regional Sports meet in chess underway at KV-1 Gandhi Nagar, here. In all, five rounds will be played in this four-day Swiss system of competition. As per the organizers, drawn from 21 different schools, there are 23 participants in under-19 category, while 36 boys are competing in under-17 and 35 in under-14 event. The competition is being organised under the technical guidance of S P Sharma and Sushil Sawhney.
KABADDI: KV Bantalab and KV Alhilal continued their winning spree in league round of the KVS Regional Sports meet in kho-kho being hosted by KV Bantalab. The Detailed League Results: KV Sunjwan bt KV-Jammu by one innings and seven points; KV1 Amritsar bt KV Samba by three minutes left; KV Chenani bt KV Lakhanpur by one point and two minutes left; KV Bantalab bt KV-1 Udhampur by one point and two minutes left; KV-2 Adampur bt KV Alhilal by one turn and three points; KV Nagalbhur beat KV 1 Pathankot by 07 points; KV Samba beat KV-1 Udhampur by 12 points; KV-2 Udhampur beat KV Nagrota by 19 points; KV-2 Jammu beat KV-1 Jammu by 09 points; KV Chenani beat KV Domana by 02 points; KV-1 Amritsar beat KV Miransahib by one turn and one point.
