Transporters action committee demands security of drivers, cleaners

Jammu, Aug 26: The All J&K Motor Transporters Joint Action Committee in a meeting chaired by Harasis Singh where it was unanimously decided that vehicles proceeding towards Srinagar (Kashmir) carrying essential commodities are being badly hit by the separatists by beating and stone pelting causing grave injuries to the drivers, cleaners of the tankers and trucks which is no more tolerable by the poor drivers. He said if the government is unable to stop such type of incidents immediately. The supply of daily consuming commodity will be stopped. The cause was supported by youth president Samarjit Singh Kranti Dal, S. Harmohinder Singh chairman J&K Sikh Council, S Ranjit Singh president All J&K tankers driver cleaner association.
