BJP expresses concern, seeks compensation for losses | Flood hit localities of Jammu city | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed serious concern over the flooding of several localities within and outside Jammu city. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that former state president and MLA (Jammu East) Ashok Khajuria, alongwith District President Rajesh Gupta visited Rajiv Nagar to take stock of the situation arising out of the recent unprecedented heavy rains and losses caused to the properties of the people living there. He went around the colony and personally met the families who have suffered due to these rains. Ashok Khajuria, after conducting the tour alongwith JMC Commissioner, UEED Executive Engineer and PHE Engineers said that whenever any natural calamity occurs, it badly affects the people living in the poor colonies. He said that inhabitants of Rajiv Nagar have suffered losses and they need to be adequately compensated for the losses suffered by them. Khajuria assured the affected families to take up their cases with district administration and see to it that immediate relief is provided. He also asked officials accompanying him to speed up relief and rehabilitation work in the flood affected areas. Others who accompanied him included Rajesh Gupta, Sunil Dogra, Raiz Ahmed, Rajesh Bhalla, Pritam Sharma, Gurcharan Singh, Sahil and Raju Pahalwan.
