GDC Kathua launches plantation drive | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Aug 26: Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua today launched plantation drive within the premises of college with joint efforts of NSS and NCC. 200 saplings of Gulmohar and Acacia were planted on the occasion. Principal Dr. Ram Krishan started the process by planting saplings in the college campus alongwith other staff members. They also appreciated endeavors of NSS and NCC for beautification of college and for making it free from environmental pollution. He also stressed volunteers and cadets for taking care of the plants for their study period of three years. NCC cadet S.S Jasrotia, Ashok Singh, and Pankaj Sharma said that it is moral duty of student community to save environment of entire world in general from increasing impact of pollution by growing more and more trees in their concerned areas. They expressed serious concerns over emission of dangerous poisonous gases from the mines and industries. On the occasion, staff members Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia, Prof. Balbir Kumar, Prof. Raj Kiran, Dr. Anupama Arora and Prof. Pawan Kumar were also present.
