Jammu trade bodies praise smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 26: Several trade organizations of Jammu connected with tourism and pilgrimage have expressed satisfaction over smooth conduct of two month long Amarnath Yatra, which concluded on August 24. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that a meeting of Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal (JPVM), apex body of 22 tourism and pilgrimage related trade bodies, Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association, Jammu Hotel, Restaurant and Bar Association, Jammu Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association, Tourist Taxi Operators Union, besides Trade Organizations of various Bazars and Markets in the city held here today, under the Chairmanship of Ravi Mahajan, Chairman JPVM thanked Governor N.N.Vohra, who is Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board other members and functionaries of SASB for their valuable services and commendable job in making Yatra grand success. ‘Despite unrest and violent scenario in Kashmir valley during these two months without any major incident is a great achievement,” they added. Meeting also thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his cabinet colleagues, police as well as central government for providing security to the pilgrims. It also thanked all other concerned departments who assisted in the smooth conduct of the Yatra. The organizations have also expressed sincere thanks to the local populace of Kashmir, who showed traditional hospitality to the pilgrims and maintained the high tradition of communal harmony. Besides Ravi Mahajan, those who attended the meeting included Kuldeep Wahi President JPVM, Inderjeet Khajuria President AJHLA, H.S.Anand President Hotel Bar Association, Madhu Sharma President Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association, Pawan Gupta President Hari Market Businessmen, Baldev Khullar Ex-President Raghunath Bazar Business Association and others.
