Perverted Barkha & NDTV cannot be allowed to go scot-free | FOURTH ESTATE OR PART OF ANTI-INDIA MOVEMENT -- II | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 26: The two young Ladakhi Buddhists, whom Barkha Dutt might have invited with considerable reluctance to tell the nation that her debate was all-inclusive and Kashmir-centric, must have disappointed the spokesperson of the Kashmiri secessionists and rank communalists. For, one of them said in unequivocal terms that he was a Ladakhi and a Buddhist, that the people of Ladakh had nothing to do with what the Kashmiri separatists have been demanding, that the Ladakhis are out-and-out Indians, that they are fed up with the politics of secessionism in the Valley and that they would not support the ongoing anti-India movement, come what may. The other Ladakhi also took almost similar stand. The only difference was that he, like the Kashmiri Muslim and Kashmiri Hindu participants, criticized the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and accused New Delhi of "violating" the so-called human rights of Kashmiri people. As for those from Jammu, the one from Doda took an extreme position. He, who appeared to be ethnically Kashmiri, like all the Kashmiri separatists, attacked India, demanded withdrawal of the Army, Paramilitary forces and the AFSPA. Besides, he, like the Kashmiri separatists, demanded right to self-determination. He also opposed tooth and nail the trifurcation formulation, saying this was not acceptable. In other words, he, like the Kashmiri fanatics, made it clear that he was for a solution that would apply to the whole of the state, irrespective of the fact that the same might not be acceptable to the people of Jammu or the people of Ladakh. He was as fanatic and irrational and communal as all Kashmiri separatist and the so-called mainstream Kashmiri Muslim leaders are. It is obvious that the intervention of the Doda boy was inspiring for the fanatic and protagonist of Kashmir's autonomy/independence Barkha Dutt. There are reasons to believe that Barkha knew it that the Doda boy would take the separatist line. The participant from Kathua, Sandeep Singh, who is a student of Jammu University, was the one who, like the Ladakhi participant, an odd face in the anti-India drama enacted by Barkha in collaboration with the Kashmiri separatists and fanatics. He opposed all that was happening in Kashmir. He did not oppose the AFSPA. He did not demand withdrawal of the Army and Paramilitary forces. He talked of India and of the need to devise a holistic approach to the issues facing Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He talked about Jammu. He talked about Gujjars and Paharis and said they were not ethnically Kashmiri. He said: "We are also stakeholders." He asked a pertinent question - "What azadi means for the people of Jammu? Though the biased and vindictive Barkha did not give him any time, Sandeep Singh did make a point during those a couple of minutes, which were reluctantly allotted to him. She gave ample time to that foreign couple who was in no way concerned with Jammu and Kashmir. Clearly, she had ensured the participation of this couple only in order to tell the world that even the "unbiased" foreigners share the "grief and sorrow of the suffering Kashmiri Muslims." The participant from Poonch Novjot Singh, who is doing his graduation in dental surgery in Kashmir, said he was "proud that he is an Indian", that "he loves India", that "he wants to join the Indian army and serve the nation" and that "Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India." However, he, at the same time, sprang a surprise by saying that the demand put forth by the Kashmiri Muslims was genuine. In other words, he did come up to the expectation of Barkha Dutt, notwithstanding his stand on India to the contrary. She wanted him to speak for the Kashmiri separatists and he advertently or inadvertently did exactly that. One can understand the limitations of Navjot because he is studying in Kashmir. Thus, there were only two odd faces among the 20 participants who took an altogether different stand. What about the perverted Barkha Dutt? She repeatedly asked loaded questions regarding the human rights situation in Kashmir. She asked: Why small children are being killed in Kashmir? Barkha praised one of the Kashmiri Hindu girls based in Delhi, saying "her response was very mature." (This girl Sheen Handoo had said: "People in Kashmir are frustrated. Delhi doesn't care for them. It's all hypocrisy. There are human rights violations in Kashmir. We are all ethnic Kashmiris. I feel for human rights violations in Kashmir." Barkha attacked the late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao. She did not spare the ailing Atal Behari Vajpayee. She attacked Prime Manmohan Singh as well. As a matter of fact, she accused Rao and Vajpayee of not fulfilling their commitments - "sky is the limit" and "solution to the Kashmir problem within the parameters of Insaniyat." None of the two took any step to grant autonomy to Kashmiri Muslims, she also said. She also accused Manmohan Singh without naming him, saying he has not done anything to end alienation in Kashmir. She suggested the AFSPA must go lock, stock and barrel. "We do need reconciliation. People in 2008 did not vote because they felt it is resolution of the Kashmir problem," she also said. In other words, she endorsed the state of the PDP and the NC on elections. She said many other things suggesting that she was an integral part of the movement and that she was as fanatic as any Kashmiri separatist. This is Barkha Dutt and this is the NDTV. Where are New Delhi and the rulers of the country? Are they sleeping? Are they not watching what is being telecast by the perverted and the virtually channels like the NDTV to jeopardize the national security and integrity, to strengthen the fundamentalist forces in Kashmir and to humiliate the nationalist constituency in the state by making sweeping statements? New Delhi cannot allow Barkha and NDTV to go scot-free. It is time New Delhi took cognizance of this no-holds-barred anti-India propaganda blitz unleashed by her and the controversial channel, which is known for biased reporting, which is known for Hindu-bashing and which is also known for organizing rabidly anti-India and pro-separatist debates. They have crossed the Lakshman Rekha. Act against them. (Concluded) |
