JKEDI conducts awareness programme

Kathua, Aug 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) today organized one day awareness programme with the collaboration of the college administration under the supervision of the principal of the college Prof. Ram Krishan in the Government Degree College Kathua. On the occasion large number college students took part in the entrepreneurship development awareness programme and heard patiently about the generation of own independent private entrepreneurship as career option instead of hankering after the government job. Speaking in the programme expert from JKEDI team Dr. Naila Khanday, Vishavjeet Singh and Saba Nazir said that the JKEDI is identified agency by the state government for implementing the Sher-e-Kashmir employment and welfare programme and also declared as the additional state channelizing agency for National Minorities Finance Development Corporation (NMFDC) and its main motive is to motivate, train and facilitate the unemployed educated youth of age from 18 to 37 to develop their own enterprises and earn batter livelihood by providing them at first awareness, development and financial assistance. They further disclosed that as per policy seed capital equivalent to 35% of the project cost shall be provided to the prospective entrepreneur up to a maximum of rupees 3lacs in respect of undergraduates/graduates and Rs. Five lakh in respect of post graduates in respect technically qualified persons such as engineers, doctors, MBA and computer science and technology students up to Rs.10 lakh. The faculty members of the college also actively participated in the programme and assured that they will guide their students in this direction. The programme was compeered by Prof. P.K. Rao and convener Career & counseling cell of collage. At the end of the programme the vote of thanks was presented by the Government Degree College Kathua Pro.Kartar Chand.
