Bhim ridicules Abdullah’s demand for autonomy

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 27: ‘The Indian National Congress which has National Conference as its junior partner in the Central Govt. and a senior in J&K has every obligation to explain its conduct vis-à-vis the greater autonomy slogan of Abdullah’s National Conference ever since Jammu and Kashmir was caught in the flames of terrorism’.
This was stated by Bhim Singh while asking the Congress to tell the people of India how Farooq Abdullah, a Union Minister in the Congress Govt. was allowed to speak on a subject which means only secession because J&K has been enjoying maximum constitutional autonomy within the framework of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.
The Panthers Party Chief warned the countrymen that the slogan demanding more autonomy or greater autonomy would mean secession and shall boost the dying morale of the terrorists in the state.
The Panthers Party chief questioned, "We have a separate Constitution and separate Flag in J&K. Parliament of India cannot legislate in respect of any matter whether in the Central List or in the Concurrent List pertaining to J&K. What more autonomy the Abdullahs have been demanding?"
Abdullah is a member of the Central Cabinet and responsible to the cabinet. Whatever a minister speaks on the floor of the Parliament he speaks for the entire government.
Does the Central Govt. stand for more autonomy also?
On the pathetic attitude of BJP, Bhim Singh said that it has regretted its bankruptcy both political and legal having failed to ask Abdullah what kind of autonomy he was asking for inside the Parliament?
BJP’s rejection of autonomy would help Abdullah alone to project his Islamic posture in the Valley. BJP had an opportunity to abrogate J&K autonomy when it was in power. This only proves that BJP is also building Farooq Abdullah and his National Conference in J&K.
It is a petty that there were two MPs in the Lok Sabha from Jammu, they also proved a flop. The silence on the part of the left group is obvious because they have been playing second fiddle in the Sheikh Darbar.
Bhim Singh reminded the echelons of power in Delhi that the people of J&K at present desire neither autonomy nor self-rule, they want freedom from the corrupt, inefficient and oppressive rule of Omar Abdullah.
He said that ongoing movement in the Valley is against the authoritarian rule. It is neither communal nor anti-India. The Panthers Party Chief demanded an apology from Farooq Abdullah and his party for initiating ‘Quit Kashmir’ movement against the Dogras in 1946 resulting into the present crisis and eruption of the flames.
