CM confused, should step-down immediately: BJP

JAMMU, Aug 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has termed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah a confused person and pleaded with him to step-down at the earliest.
In a handout issued here today, it has been said that in view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas along with Leader of Legislative Party Chaman Lal Gupta and former State President and MLA (Jammu East) Ashok Khajuria held a meeting of senior leaders, state office bearers, MLAs and morcha presidents at party headquarters.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is a confused person and hence, is unable to tackle the fluid security and political situation of Kashmir valley. He also held congress responsible for the prevailing situation in Kashmir valley. Manhas said that the people of the state cannot be misled any more by emotional speeches or slogans.
BJP chief announced that all the 11 MLAs of the party have decided to donate Rs. 5 lakh each from their constituency development funds to provide financial assistance to the victims of Leh tragedy and appealed the government to transfer the amount to the concerned agency engaged in relief and rehabilitation operations. He declared that the party will organize constituency level programmes through out the state on September 8 as a mark of protest over the failure of the state government to deal with the present turmoil in Kashmir.
Former Defense Minister Chaman Lal Gupta said that the present situation demands implementation of Mookherjee Model as Nehruvian Model has miserably failed in the state. He said the role of BJP cadres in the state has become more important in the present scenario as the security forces are being demoralized, idea to grant concessions to separatist and anti-national elements are on move and the patriotic citizens are feeling helpless and insecure.
