J&K govt regularizes 14 DP basties, gives ownership rights to 19 | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, Aug 28: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has said that coalition Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the displaced families of 1947, 1965 and 1971 in their respective basties at par with urban centers. Minister said this after conferring the proprietary rights to 587 inhabitants of 14 basties of displaced families of 1965 and 1971 of Kathua district under Common Land Act 1956 at a function held at Ramlila ground, here today. He informed that for upgrading socio-economic condition of DPs, central government has approved Rs. 49 crore packages for distribution of land deficiency compensation. He said that compensation has been distributed in respective basties of DPs by conducting public durbars. Minister also handed over 19 mutations under Government Order No.254/C to DPs of Chak Mathura, Sherpur Pain, Thakharpur Garore, Chhan Charkhari and Muthi Hardo of Hiranagar tehsil. Bhalla distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 3,45,000 under National Calamity Relief Fund to 23 beneficiaries whose property was damaged due to incessant rains in the district. For providing immediate financial assistance to Flood/heavy rains sufferers, Bhalla said that coalition government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has released Rs. 2 crore each for Kashmir and Jammu divisions. Later, the Minister also inaugurated fully computerized Single Window System (SWS) in the premises of District Development Commissioner, Kathua office. He said that all the new Revenue Complexes are being developed on modern lines with focus on installation of people-friendly mechanism, adding that the aim of the Government is to evolve such a system in which offices functioning in a paper free and hassle free manner, as envisaged in e-Governance. Minister of State for Cooperatives, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, MLA, Charanjit Singh, MLC, Subash Gupta, District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Sanjeev Verma, SSP, Kathua, Garib Dass, District Informatics Officer NIC, Rajesh Gupta, Prominent Citizens and other senior officers, of Revenue, Relief, R&B, PHE, PDD, Social Welfare and Agriculture were also present on the occasion.
