Autonomy slogan for diverting public opinion: BJYM
8/28/2010 9:14:24 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 28: Autonomy is a dead issue now and no party or individual can mislead people of Jammu and Kashmir by such pleasing slogans.
This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Mandal President Keshav Chopra while addressing a protest demonstration here today. The protestors burnt copies of the autonomy document and raised slogans against it. Chopra said that Kashmir valley is passing through a very crucial phase sine there is complete chaos and lack of governance, which has encouraged the anti-national elements.
He said that a sense of insecurity is being seen among the minorities in the valley and the NC leadership, including the state Chief Minister, is talking of Autonomy. He said that repeated attempts to raise the issue of Autonomy by the Chief Minister is a calculated move to divert attention of the masses from the real issues facing the state.
He said the BJP and yuva morcha activists have always opposed any such concession or status which dilutes Indian Sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir. When other states of the country do not require any such concession, in J&K it is a handful of the NC leaders who rake up the issue of Autonomy whenever they feel isolated or fear of losing the chair, added Morcha leaders.
Sanjay Baru, Vijay Choudhary, Ravi Mehra, Munish Gupta, Mnumanav Mahajan, Deepak Chib, Ashish Sharma, Mukesh Tandon, Rahul, Vishal Dogra, Amit Sharma, Sumit Dogra, Ajay Mehra, Sumit Thakur, Sumit Choudhary, Vikas Choudhary, Baldev Singh, Ashwani, Nitish Kumar, Amarjeet, Manju Kumar and Jagdish were prominent among those who took part in the protest demonstration.
