| SVO attaches house of ex-revenue officer | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Aug 28: State Vigilance Organisation today attached a triple storey palatial residential house of an ex-Tehsildar constructed in a plot measuring 1.6 kanal at friends colony on the Air-Port Road Humhama in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Bashir then Tehsildar Jammu son of Mohammad Hussain, a resident of Madana in District Poonch, presently living at Shiva Enclave near Police Station Janipur Jammu. His property has been attached in Case FIR No. 15/2010 U/S 5 (1)(e) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt.2006 P/S VOJ.
During investigation of the instant case, searches were conducted in the residential houses and other buildings owned by accused at Jammu and Srinagar simultaneously in presence of the executive magistrates. The house search yielded various incriminating documents which had direct bearing on the case. During investigation, the above cited immovable property belonging to the accused Tehsildar was found disproportionate to his known sources of income and as such, has been attached u/s 8(B) of the amended Prevention of Corruption Act Svt.2006.
