KV-2 Adampur retains girls’ kho-kho title
41st KVS Regional Sports Meet

JAMMU, Aug 28: Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Adampur retained the girls’ kho-kho title beating KV Nangal Bhul in the final of the 41st KVS Regional Sports Meet held at KV Bantalab, here today.
Reigning champions, KV Adampur did not lose even a single game in the four day competitions hosted by KV Bantalab. Third place went to KV-1 Akhnoor, who beat hosts KV Bantalab in the hardliner.
In all, 20 teams representing different KVs of Jammu Regional took part in this league-cum-knock event.
In the valedictory function, Principal of the host school, Sushma Thaper was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies and presented medals to the team members.
During the four-day tournament, Surjit Singh, Ravinder Singh Bali, Ravi Kumar and Gagan Kumar officiated the matches under the guidance of BS Tirthi.

CHESS: Amardeep, Chanjeev, Rajat bag gold

Amardeep of KV-3 Amritsar, Chanjeev Koul of KV Domana and Rajat Bhardwaj of KV Nagrota shined with gold in under-14, under-17 and under-19 age groups respectively in the Chess tournament concluded today at KV-1 Gandhi Nagar, here.
In under-14 category, second place went to Ritesh Pathania of KV Nagrota while Kshitz of KV Shigar DBN remained third. Similarly, in under-17 category, Argim Pandotra of KV-1 Jammu bagged second place, followed by Arpit Sharma of KV-1 AFS Pathankot at third place. In under-19 category, Rajat Bhardwaj was followed by Sarvesh Langer of KV-1 Jammu at No. two position while Sanchit of KV-1 Amristar finished third.
Principal of the Vidyalaya, Dr Chitra Misra gave away medals to the winners of both chess and skating events hosted by KV-1 Gandhi Nagar. She was accompanied by another special guest, Manjit Singh on the dias.
Earlier, before the prize distribution function, students of host KV Gandhi Nagar presented colourful cultural programme to give memorable send off to the visiting teams from participating KVs.
