Amandeep Hospital organizes seminar on ‘Low Back Ache’

Jammu, Aug 28: Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar which is the largest and most advanced Centre for Bones, Joints and Plastic Surgery treatment in Punjab organized a seminar on Low Back Ache at its OPD Clinic, Gandhi Nagar by Department of Physiotherapy in collaboration with Relief Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic Jammu.
Low Back Ache which was the topic of the seminar was presented by Dr. Divya Narania Senior Physiotherapist at Amandeep Hospital OPD Clinic.
Dr. Divya Narania said that Low Back Ache (LBA) is a very common musculoskeletal disorder and affects 80% of people at some point in their lives.
Low Back Ache is defined as a pain in the lower back region which may be associated with or without a leg pain.
The most common cause for the low back ache is the musculoskeletal problems and such type of pain is referred as none a specific Low Back ache which occurs due to sprain in the muscles of the back and the soft tissue.
Other causes include degenerative discs, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, vertebral fractures, pregnancy related back pain.
“Now days the main cause for the LBA is the wrong postural habits at the working place,” she said.
Divya Narania explained about the role of physiotherapy in low back ache and the management for the same.
According to her the management for the LBA includes medication, physiotherapy and the life style modifications. She mainly focused on the correct postural techniques during sitting, standing and sleeping is the best preventive measure for LBA.
Doing controlled, gradual and progressive exercises under the guidance of physiotherapist is very important in preventing the future episodes of low back ache.
According to Amandeep Hospital Relationship Manager Jammu and Kashmir Manish Manocha that hospital has already doing lot of awareness programmes on modern life style diseases like obesity, diabetes, arthritis and learning disabilities in children.
He told such types of programmes and seminars will be done in future also for the awareness of modern life style diseases and the role of physiotherapy in preventing such types of diseases.
On the occasion Dr. Manpreet Singh, Head relief physiotherapy and rehabilitation clinic Jammu, Physiotherapist’s for across the Jammu, corporate employees, students and patients were also present.
