Beware of Chinese bull trying to enter into India's shop

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 28 :China delights in giving pin pricks to India and the Government in Delhi. Its tactics on the border dispute is an old story and Delhi has been making all out efforts for resolving the border problem with Beijing. However, things keep on getting complicated after China has been persistent in claiming that Arunachal Pradesh belonged to it.Well since the talks on the border dispute have been going on,even at a snail's pace, the level of conflict between the two sides has not been allowed to escalate.
It seems Beijing is not satisfied with its kidding game against Delhi on the border row.During the last one yar China has hit on a novel plan when it denied visas to those from Jammu and Kashmir to be pasted on their their passports and instead it had started stapling it on plain papers. Delhi reacted and refused permission to those with visas on paper to visit China. At one stage Beijing agreed to correct the process but not much progress has been achieved.
Another Chinese kick which Delhi received was when Beijing refused permission to GOC-in_Chief Northern commandd, Lt.Gen. B.S. Jaswal to visit China. The visit of some Indian Army officials had been decided between the two sides in January and accordingly Jaswal had to fly to Beijing in July. But on account of some administrative problem Jaswal's visit was delayed.
And when Delhi informed Beijing that it was sending Gen.Jamwal China refused permission on the plea that since Jaswal was working in Jammu and Kashmir he would not be allowed in as Jammu and Kashmir was a disputed territory. And again Delhi reacted sharply informing Beijing that it had dcided not to send Jaswal.
With this Delhi shot a rider that it would not permit two chinese Defence officers who were to undergo training in the National Defence College.
China's argument seems to be untenable because even those countries that treat Kashmir as a disputed territory have neither issued visas to the Indian travellers on separate piece of paper nor have they refused visit of political leaders, Government officers and common people belonging to Jammu and Kashmir tot their countries.China has been trying to emulate Islamabad which has been raising one hurdle or the other for visitors from Jammu and Kashmir who were keen to travel to Pakistan and to occupied Kashmir.
Lt.General B.S.Jaswal is an Army commander in the Indian Army. For China India is not disputed territory.See the logic. If Jaswal is an Indian he has lost his right to visit China because he heads the Northern command in the highly sensitive area of Jammu and Kashmir. If the Chinese frivolous argument is t aken into consideration it would mean that neither the Union Minister of solar Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah, nor the Union Health Minister,Ghulam Nabi Azad, will be permitted to visit Beijing. It would mean that members of Lok Sabha and the R ajya Sabhabelonging to Jammu and Kashmir will not be allowed permission to visit China.
China is at liberty to r aise border issues with India. It is free to suggest any solution to the border. But refusing permission to those belonging to Jammu and Kashmir to China seems to be an ill conceived move simply to force Delhi to trteat Tibet as part of China.Well China would not issue separate visas to residents of Jammu and Kashmir if Delhi forced the Dalai Lama either to return to T ibet or asked to take shelter in some other coluntry alongwith several thousand Tibetians who have been living in India since 1959.
And if the former Defence Minister,George Fernandes's view on China is examined he seems to be right.Fernandes had stated that India's number one enemy was china and not Pakistan.
This view had echoed later by top Army authorities in Delhi.Since India may not be in a position to face anot her Chinese misadventure of the type of 1962 it was mandatory for Delhi to use all diplomat uic channels for defusing tension with Beijing.
