'Pak army officers visit training camps regularly'
Militant returns alongwith family from POK to join mainstream

POONCH, Aug 28: Peeved over treatment meted out to him in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and desperately desirous of returning to national mainstream, a militant along with his wife and three children today infiltrated back into the Indian side from Guntrian sector on the line of control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources informed that the militant has been identified as Liaqet Hussain son of Wali Mohammad, resident of Morha Bichaie in Surankote tehsil of District Poonch. They added hat the said militant has surrendered before army at Gountrian sector on the Line of Control (LOC). They asserted that the militant had infiltrated on Saturday alongwith his wife and three children.
Sources disclosed that Liaqet Hussain had earlier crossed the Line of Control in 2001 along with his wife. However, he had then returned back alongwith two daughters namely Shaista Kousar (3 years) and Shagufta Kousar (8 years).
Army sources said that after crossing the LoC, the said militant alongwith his family approached 15 JAT Rifles operating in Guntrian sector. They added that Liaqet handed over some arms and ammunitions to which included one AK 47 rifle, 2 AK 47 Magazines, 30 rounds, one pistol and 1 pistol magazine.
As per sources, Liaqet has informed the army that he received arms training in a camp situated in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). He has further told them that officers of Pakistan Army regularly visit the training camps and even pass on instructions to trainee militants. Liaqet has further said that he was fed up with militancy and wanted to give his children better education in his village in Surankote tehsil.
Meanwhile police sources said that they have no information about the event. When contacted Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Manmohan Singh said that though he came to know about the event yet he has not received any official communication from army. "I am yet to be informed officially about the surrender. Hence, I cannot comment", he said.
