Bhalla assures all possible help to rain affected migrant camps

Jammu, Aug 29: More than 100 families of Kashmiri migrants living in migrant camps in Mishriwalla and Purkhoo are awaiting healing touch of the state government authorities after heavy rains played havoc with their lives and soaked their belongings and ration supplies.
According to official sources more than 100 families are affected due to water logging in dingy lanes of migrant camps in Mishriwalla and Purkhoo camps following incessant rains.
Majority of house hold items including ration supplies, electronic appliances, books, clothings and other belongings of migrants were seen floating inside one room tenements of these migrant camps.
After facing the fury of the weather gods, the hapless migrants were left to curse themselves as they had to struggle their way to get rid of the water collected inside their houses.
Realizing the sensitivity of the matter, state Relief and Rehabilitation and Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla visited the migrant camps for an on the spot inspection and directed the revenue authorities to make an assessment of the total damages.
According to Bhalla more than 140 families have been extended relief and ration supplies for a period of one month and paper work of all other affected due to rains is under consideration.
He gave an assurance to the needy families that the state government is committed to extend them relief material and soon after the formalities are over the required help would be extended to them without any delay.
Meanwhile, all other people who were affected by the rain waters are awaiting their turn to get the compensation from the state govt.
In the previous week when Raman Bhalla visited parts of Gangyal and waded through muddy waters he had made a personal commitment to the families to extend them a helping hand in their hour of need and had directed the revenue authorities to make correct assessment of their total damages.
