KPC for enhancement of relief to migrants | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 30: State unit of Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has urged upon the Government to enhance the cash assistance to migrants to rupees 12000 keeping in view the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities. In a joint statement issued by president KPC- Satish Pajnoo and its general secretary- P.N. Pandit, they said that it was impossible for a family to make both ends meet on paltry 5000 rupees, adding that Government should have realized the problem of its own and increased the cash assistance. Supporting agitating migrants, they stressed upon the Government to fulfill the genuine demand and increase the monthly relief to migrants up to 12000 rupees so that they can at least have two time meal. Referring to assistance to migrant patients suffering from serious diseases, they said that the Government has kept such a complicated procedure for procuring some assistance that there is hardly any file that gets cleared. They said that hundreds of such files are pending with the Relief Commissioner Jammu due to complicated procedure, adding that many patients died for want of treatment as their relatives could not fulfill the complex process. They demanded simplifying of procedure so that the patients suffering from serious ailments could get relief in time and their life is saved.
