Coalition has lost the confidence of the people : BSP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 29: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Sunday expressed concern over deteriorating law and order problem in Kashmir Valley, saying the ruling coalition in Jammu and Kashmir has completely failed to deliver on ground. “There is total lawlessness in Kashmir Valley as the government has failed to restore law and order there. All business establishments are closed and all development activities have come to standstill. The Central government should take serious notice of prevailing unrest and steps need to be taken to restore normalcy in Kashmir,” BSP in charge J&K Affairs, Narinder Kashyap told reporters here. Justifying the demand of imposition of Governor rule in Jammu and Kashmir, the BSP leader said, “The State government has failed to deliver on ground and people of all shades of life in Kashmir Valley have subjected to great hardships due to continuous shutdowns and curfews. We demand that the Governor rule should be imposed to bring normalcy in the State,” he said. He added, “The ruling coalition has lost the confidence of the people, besides anger is also brewing against the ruling dispensation among the police and security personnel deployed in Kashmir. The recent incident of hurling of a shoe towards the Chief Minister by a constable was an eye opener for the government.” Kashyap, who is also a Member of Parliament, claimed that he raised the issue of deteriorating law and order problem in Kashmir in Rajya Sabha. He also expressed concern over withdrawal of security cover of BSP leaders and said, “It is a glaring example of discrimination with our party leaders. All block and district presidents of other political parties have been provided security cover but our state office bearers are still deprived of it. It is another attempt by the government to stop BSP leaders from carrying out political activities in the state.” Earlier, he announced new office bearers of state BSP and said, BSP chief, Mayawati has re-appointed Tulsi Dass Langeh as state president of the party.
