RKSP flays state government | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 29: Rashtriya Krantikari Samajwadi Party (RKSP) has flayed the state government for not undertaking the work on three hydro-electric projects sanctioned for the Kishtwar district. The RKSP state president, Babzada Tanveer Hussain who is on extensive tour of Doda and Kistwar districts said these power projects on Chenab river include Dhrabshalla, Kheeru and one in Padder, which are to be executed by the state government. Babzada said that funds for undertaking these projects stand sanctioned and even released to the concerned department, yet the work on these has not commenced till date. “Besides easing out the electric power problem in the area with the commissioning of these projects, their taking up in hand would provide jobs to a large number of unemployed people in the area, including educated unemployed and ITI trained hands, who are presently without jobs,” he said. He appealed the concerned agencies to undertake the work on these projects immediately and complete the same at the earliest. Babzada, who met farmers in the high hilly areas of the districts, said that heavy rains have damaged the crops of the farmers. “Besides the sinking of land, including agricultural land and residential areas of the people, a large number of cattle heads of the farmers too have perished in the flash floods. But unfortunately no relief and compensation has so far been provided to the affected farmers,” he maintained. He further alleged that the concerned officers do not pay any heed to the suffering of the farmers. “Most of the officers in various departments remain absent from their duty in the far flung areas,” he said and demanded immediate sanctioning of relief and compensation and its disbursement to the farmers, to provide them some succor.
