| NSF concerned over staff shortage at GDC , R S Pura | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: ‘National Secular Forum (NSF) has expressed concern over lack of infrastructure and staff in Government Degree College, R S Pura.
In a meeting of NSF activists under the chairmanship of state NSF president, Vikas Sharma in R S Pura, the speakers criticized the Higher Education Department for its alleged failure to provide adequate infrastructure in the college.
Sharma alleged that the students in the college have been facing acute shortage of water due to non-availability of water cooler and other drinking water facility.
“Toilets in the college have been locked by the authorities, reason best known to them,” he said, adding “the studies of the students are suffering due to shortage of teaching staff.”
He said that there is no provision for girl students to take part in National Cadet Corps (NCC) wing, besides the students from far-off places have been facing problems due to non-availability of proper transport facility.
According to the press statement, Sharma took the matter with the Director Colleges who assured him for early redressal of students’ grievances.
Senior NSF leaders including Vinod Sharma, Davinder Chib, Shalu Sharma and Pawan Sharma were also present in the meeting.
