Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: The Jammu Muslim Coordination Committee (JMCC) meeting held under the Chairmanship of its senior , Vice President A.G. Kohli took strong exception to a statement published in some news papers attributing the same to JMCC. Speaking in the meeting Kohli said that JMCC has not made any statement demanding referendum or plebiscite in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Keeping themselves and JMCC aloof from any such statement, the leaders of JMCC have said that one single person’s personal views should not be attributed to an organization or some community. However, Kohli has said that since such views are controversial and have been made in personal capacity which falls even out of the ambit of JMCC’s Constitutions and perhaps academic in nature which cannot be voice of whole community or organization, the same are disowned by JMCC. In the meeting, it was also decided that since despite affording opportunity, Zahoor-ud-Din, the President of JMCC has failed to comment on the reactin of his so called views about solution of Kashmir Problem. The leadersof JMCC distancing itself from one man’s personal views has dicided to stick strictly to the Constitution of JMCC wherein no such provision or power has been granted to any office bearers or even the President to make such statement. The members have nominated Abdul Ghani Kohli as President of JMCC and asked Zahoor-ud-Din not to claim himself as even the office bearer of JMCC. As per press release Kohli the new nominated President has said that JMCC shall continue to pursue its agenda of protecting the social, cultural, religious and economic rights of Jammu Muslims by making all out efforts. To maintain communal harmony, brotherhood and peace and tranquility the JMCC by keeping close rapport with other social organizations of all hues of Jammu Province. The name of Kohli for President was proposed by secretary of JMCC, Abdul Aziz Qureshi and accepted with one voice by the other members including other members.
