OBC organizes awareness programme | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Aug 29: A receiving reception was accorded to vice chairman of J&K backward classes, Kuldeep Verma by the Backward Classes unit of the Kathua district here today. Speaking on the occasion, ex MLC Chuni Lal urged to implement the recommendations of Mandal Commission in the state on the pattern of neighbouring state of Himachal Pradesh. He also damaged issuing of OBC certificate permanently on the pattern of SC/ST certificate. He said backward classes in J&K state are totally ignored in giving their due rights of reservation. He stressed for giving the share in legislature, civic bodies and Panchayats beside providing the scholarship facility to all OBC students without considering the marks percentage condition, beside constitute the separate OBC development corporation. He also demanded issuing of BPL cards to land less and poor OBC people. Speaking on the occasion vice chairman verma appreciated the initiative of the OBC cell Kathua to organize public programme and said that I would take all the long pending genuine demands of the OBC people seriously to put before the government of both state and centre for their genuine solution and it is my priority to serve the OBC from the core of my heart for their upliftment economically and socially. The vice chairman was accompanied by Ex-Deputy Chief Minister Mangat Ram Sharma, Ex-MLA Hiranagar Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Rtd. Col Karam Chand and senior youth leader of the congress Ramesh Billa who urged the coalition and centre government to come forward to do justice with this deprived class.
