All the members participated in the meeting to take stock of the situation in Kashmir valley due to the unrest since last two months in general and threatening letters issued to the minority community in particular.
All the members were concerned and worried about the situation which is going bad to worse day by day and its impact on minority. The minority community has stood like a rock and faced the wrath of militancy and hardships during the last two decades. Government of India is urged to provide security to the minorities through its agencies and provide employment package to the minorities living in valley so that youths can live in valley and continue to hold the secular fabric of Indian Union intact.
It was also urged upon the minorities living in the valley that they should be united at this crucial juncture and face the crisis bravely. They will enjoy the full support of Sikh Community living outside valley.
It was also decided that Punjab Government / SGPC Amritsar and government of India would be approached to have the reservation policy in education being provided to the students of Kashmiri migrants.
It was also decided to keep a close liaison with the representative committee constituted in the valley to ascertain day to day situation and work in complete cooperation with the committee for the welfare of the Sikh minorities in the state.
