Pensioners association conduct meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Aug 30: Municipal & Local Bodies Pensioners Association Jammu province, today conducted a meeting at Gandhinagar Balmiki Colony Jammu, under the chairman ship of Shri GuIzar Chaudhry discussed various problems of the pensioners and strongly criticized the State government for not resolving the genuine demands viz deputing (appointing) a separate examiner/CAO in the office of Fund Audit Cell at Jammu ,non-settlement of Pension cases, GP fund Cases, Release of arrears of the Sixth Pay Commission, enhancement of Medical Allowance to the tune of Rs IOOO per month, Children education allowances as admissible to the Central government Pensioners, Release of sufficient Pensionery funds to district Treasuries by the Housing Sector Examiner/ local fund audit cell Srinagar in time.
The members expressed a great concern over the government for not releasing the arrears of Sixth Pay Commission before August 2010 as earlier promised to the EJAC in the Cabinet Sub Committee headed by the finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather whereas the news are pouring in that the government is going to move a proposal in the ensuing session of assembly to hike the monthly perks of the Legislatures & Ministers of J&K state @ Rs60000/-, Rs65000/- & Rs 70000 per month respectively in addition Pensionery benefits from Rs12500/- to Rs17500/- with Medical Allowance Rs lOOO per month & Constituency Allowance etc during Sept 2010 at Srinagar like recently decided by the Central government in the case of members of the parliament. The Association strongly criticized this unjustifiable and indiscriminate move of the government. Prominent among present in the meeting were JC Gupta, CL Jalali, ML Gupta, BS Jamwal, Bhadri Nath Bhat, Waryam Singh, BD Verma, JR Sharma, RK Gupta, Narvir Singh and others.
