Probe ordered in illegal citizenship issue | I will recommend cancellation of their names at one place: NT Election | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 30: Acting upon the story published in Early Times in August 28 issue, Rajouri administration has initiated enquiry into illegal citizenship allegedly managed by 18 residents at two different places in separate tehsils where they were enjoining all benefits at both the places. Sources said that Rajouri administration has directed headquarter Naib Tehsildar of Elections to enquire into the reports and do the needful at the earliest following which Naib Tehsildar has initiated the process of investigation. As per sources Naib Tehsildar has also visited at one place Banghai in Thanamandi tehsil while he is likely to visit another place in tehsil Rajouri. When contacted, Abdul Rashid Thakar, Naib Tehsildar of District Election Cell admitted that he has initiated enquiry into the complaints. He said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the residents have illegally managed entry into the voter lists and have also managed some other documents at both the places. About the action to be taken, Thakar said that the only solution of the issue that they have to cancel names of the residents on one voter list. He said that managing entry into two voter lists in one constituency is illegal and he is going to recommend cancellation of their name from one place. “I met Chowkidar, Nambardar and former Sarpanch of Bhangai village and they reported that these families are not residing in this village”, he said adding that one among the family member has also managed employment in education department and the case is under investigation. Early Times had published story in August 28 issue with title “18 Rajouri residents manage illegal residency” following which the administration took steps to cancel their documents at one place. It is pertinent to mention here that In clear violation of rules, atleast 18 residents of Rajouri district have illegally managed citizenship at two different tehsils enjoying all benefits at both the places including having voter identity cards, ration cards and votes at both the villages As per the records, from serial number 114 to 120 and Khana No 195-201 in Ward No 4 Gulathi in Manjakote of Rajouri tehsil, the names of Khadam Hussain son of Mohammad Hussain, Narir Begum wife of Khadam Hussain, Alam Bi wife of Khadam Hussain, Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Ishtaiq, Mohamad Shakoor son of Khadam Hussain and Parveen Akhter daughter of Khadam Hussain figured while the same residents have reportedly managed their citizenship in Ward No 6 in Panghai village of tehsil Thanamandi and managed to their names in the voter list at serial number 21-28 and Khana Number 334. In the same Ward No 4 Gulathi in Manjakote of Rajouri tehsil, another residents viz Manzoor Hussain son of Kala, Sakina Begum wife of manzoor Hussain, Zulfikar, Mohammad Farooq and Jamsheed Ahmed sons of Manzoor Ahmed and Gulnaz Begum wife of Jamsheed Ahmed are figured on the voter list of the village at serial number 121-126 and Khana Number 202-207 but the same residents also figured on voter list in another tehsil Ward No 6 in Panghai village of tehsil Thanamandi at serial number 37 -41 These residents have also managed voter identity cards at both the places. As per records, Manzor Hussain son of Kala resident of Gulathi village in Manjakote bear voter identity card bearing number HTZ0187419 while the same person has managed voter identity card bearing number HTZ0063768 from Banghai village of Thanamandi. His son Zulfikar Ali has get voter ID card from Manjakote veering number JK83015191 while he has also Voter ID card of Thanamandi bearing number HTZ0063884. There is lady namely Gulnaz Begum wife of Jamsheed of thje same village who is having voter ID card number HTZ0187443 while she is also having another Voter ID card from another tehsil bearing number HTZ 0063800.
