EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, August 30: Government Gandhi Memorial Science College lifted the overall championship trophy securing highest 16 points in the day-long inter-college men’s weightlifting competitions, organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu on the campus, here today. Second place went to Government SPMR College of Commerce with 11 points, while Government Degree College Kathua remained third securing 10 points out of eight different weights decided today. Sandeep Singh, Pushpinder Singh and Kunal Slathia led the Science College campaign winning gold in 77 kg, 105 kg and 94 kg weight categories. Among other participants, Government MAM College and Trikuta Degree College also performed well but could not make it to the first three positions. The competition was officiated by Bhagwan Dass Khajuria, Inder Pal Singh, Jai Bharat and Dr Rajinder. Upto 62 kg: Ramzan Ali, Degree College Kathua, Ist; Jinder Pal Singh, Commerce College, 2nd and Someshwar Partap Singh, MAM College, third. Upto 77 kg: Sandeep Singh, Science College, Ist; Kulwant Singh, Commerce College, 2nd and Vishal Sonawane, Commerce College, third. Upto 69 kg: Manish Charak, PG Departments, Ist; Sunil Singh Bhau, Commerce College, 2nd; Vipin Khajuria, Science College, third. Upto 85 kg: Aman Khajuria, Degree College Kathua, Ist; Anshuman Sharma, Trikuta Degree College, 2nd and Akash Manhas, MAM College, third. Upto 94 kg: Kunal Slathia, Science College, Ist; Kailash Choudhary, PG Departments, 2nd and Ishan Gupta, Trikuta Degree College, third. Upto 105 kg: Pushpinder Singh, Science College, Ist; Nitin Rakwal, Trikuta Degree College, 2nd and Shashank Khajuria, Commerce College, third.
