13 trains cancel due to repair work on Railway Bridge in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 30: Nearly 13 trains have been cancelled as a precautionary measure on Udhampur-Jammu-Pathankote route in view of repair works going on the basement of Balole Railway bridge in Bari Brahamana area, an official said. The work is going on a warfooting to repair and strengthen the basement of the bridge, which was damaged due to last week's flash floods in Jammu, Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM) Jammu Railways, J Singh said, adding train traffic would remain partially disrupted due to the ongoing work. Among the trains which were cancelled since yesterday include Tata Mori, Archana Express, New Delhi special, Banaras Express, Haldi Express, Amritsar Express, Varanasi Express, besides three DMUs and two goods trains. These trains have been stopped at Amritsar, Pathankot and Chaki Bank areas, he said. Passengers of these trains were ferried by railways to these destinations for their onward journey, he added. He said the trains have been cancelled to avoid pressure on this bridge and only some of the trains will run from Jammu and Udhampur at a speed of nearly 20-kms per hour in the damaged stretch of the bridge.
