DYSS-run girls’ coaching camp in full swing | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, September 03: The coaching camp for under-19 girl footballers of Jammu and Kashmir, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), goes on in full swing under the guidance of experts from the field at MA Stadium here. In the first phase of the camp, the girls belong to Jammu and Srinagar districts have been involved in conditioning with stress on developing coordination. “In the first phase, the girls have been involved in conditioning by way of various kind of exercise and running so as to make them use to with prevailing conditions. It will be followed by game part from Monday (September six) onwards,” chief coach for the camp, Iqbal Singh of State Sports Council told SAN. The coaches looked happy with the enthusiasm shown by these campers to their instructions and guidelines during the five-hour long coaching sessions, divided into two shifts of morning and evening. “Girls are doing well despite humid conditions in Jammu and have settled down after three days of regular coaching sessions,” informed the coach. Out of these 22 girls, attending the camp, the selection committee shall be picking up best 18 prior to the National School Games being hosted by DYSS in Jammu. In this 20-day camp, senior coach of the Sports Council, Iqbal Singh is being assisted by Shamim Mehraj of DYSS as assistant coach in the ongoing camp. CAMPERS: Pooja Rani, Mahk Balwada, Neetika Thapa, Upasana Khajuria, Palvinder Kour, Urvashi Thapa, Stefy Kundal, Shalini Dogra, Rashika Koul, Ritu (all Jammu), Sheeba Majid, Noma Nazir, Mavish Mustaq, Seerat Shafi, Ayimen Altaf, Muhaq Mushtaq, Qudsya Altaf, Iflah Gulzar, Afreen Khan, Babra Khan and Sumaya Shahid (all Srinagar).
