| MIER celebrates teachers’ day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 4: To pay glowing tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a colourful programmes was organized by various wings of Model Institute of Education and Research Jammu.
The students and teachers of Model Academy and MIER College of Education participated in the celebration of Teachers Day. Dr Adit Gupta Joint Director was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
The school students presented a colourful programme depicting the spirit of Teachers Day. Presentations of speeches, skits and group songs were the highlight of the programme. The teachers also took a pledge on this occasion to rededicate themselves for the cause of quality education and help create a better learning environment.
In his address, Dr. Adit Gupta, called upon the teachers to take up the job in a dedicated and challenging manner. He stressed that teachers need to be more innovative and should include modern technology in their teaching. He also urged upon the teachers to contribute to the development of the student’s community and also present themselves as a role model of academic professional and human excellence before the students.
Present on the occasion were Principal of the residency road branch Rupa Gupta, Principal of the school Puneet Basur and other office bearers of the school wing. In another programme, the faculty and M.Ed students of the MIER college of Education celebrated Teachers Day in there own unique way. The M.Ed students presented a wonderful skit depicting teacher effectiveness along with poems to honour the role of teachers in our society. The students also organized games for the teachers to participate. Also present on the occasion were Dr. B. L. Raina, H.O.D. M.Ed, Dr. Surinder Kour the Administrator of the college and other faculty members.
