| Two women among 3 held for assaulting SI | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 4: Two women and a man were arrested for assaulting a Sub-Inspector (SI) who headed a police team which raided their rented house at Sainik Colony here today.
The raid was conducted after police were tipped off by locals that some unlawful activity was being run in the house.
Police sources said when cops led by Sainik Colony police post incharge, SI Satinder Pal Singh entered house No 193 in Sector G of the locality at about 12.30 pm, Sudesh Kumari, wife of Karan Singh, and Renu Bala, wife of Sunny, both residents of Himachal Pradesh, attacked them.
The SI was wounded and his mobile broken, the sources added.
Both the women and a man were arrested for assaulting police and booked under sections 353, 332 and 382 of RPC.
Sources said CRPF cop Yog Raj of Gandoh in Doda, who was found entering the house clandestinely, was also detained by police for questioning.
The house, in which the women were staying, belonged to Major Singh, who himself was putting up in Himachal. |
