Two held with heroin at Gandhi Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 4: Two Kashmir-based narcotic smugglers were today arrested by police from the posh Gandhi Nagar area here along with one kilogram of heroin worth Rs one cr in the international market. The accused were identified as Majeed Ahmed Shah, son of Ghulam Ahmed Shah, and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Mohd Rizwin Khan, both residents of Awantipura, Srinagar. SP (south) Rajashwer Singh said acting on a tip-off, police laid a special checking point outside the Gandhi Nagar hospital and intercepted a car (HR23/0036). The checking of the car led police to the recovery of one kilogram heroin worth Rs one cr in the international market, he added. He said the consignment was then seized and the accused were whisked away to the Gandhi Nagar police station. A case was registered against them under relevant sections of law. |
