Art 370 denied prospective dental students their right to future career: BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 11: Article 370 is a hurdle in future of Dental College students of Jammu. It has been proved that the Special Statue under this Article is the root cause for de-recognition of the Indira Gandhi Government Dental College by Dental Council of India (DCI). This was alleged by BJP State General Secretary Satish Sharma while expressing party’s full support to the agitating students of College. Sharma said the DCI did not grant approval to Indira Gandhi Dental College on the grounds that it lacked adequate infrastructure and suitable required teaching faculty despite the fact that enough time was given to it for the purpose. He said that the Dental College comes under the purview of State Government and obviously has to follow the law of the State. “As per the law under Article 370, except state subjects, no one from other parts of the country can apply for any post in the departments under Jammu and Kashmir government. Had there been no restriction on filing up of any post from amongst any one applying from any where, today the future of these students would not have been in dark,” said Satish Sharma. Reiterating BJP’s demand to abrogate Article 370, Satish Sharma said that it has caused only harms and the need of the time is to scrap it immediately so that the interests of the people are safeguarded. He said even majority of the members of the Constitution Drafting Committee were against granting any Special Status and its incorporation in Indian Constitution because they were well aware that it will prove to be harmful instead of serving any good to the people. The BJP leader asked the leaders in the NC-Congress coalition, ministers from Jammu in particular, not to shed crocodile tears to escape wrath of the agitating students and exert pressure on the government to bring a bill in the coming session of the State assembly to abrogate it . He said the BJP will be the first opposition party to extend its unconditional support to get rid from Article 370.
