Better services to people prime concern: Tara Chand | Dy CM holds public darbars in Pargwal area | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 11: Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand said that Coalition Government is committed to provide all basic infrastructural facilities to the inhabitants of peripheral areas at par with urban centres including adequate road connectivity, lanes and drainage system, drinking water, electricity, healthcare and education at their door steps. This was stated by him while conducting a series of public meetings at Pargwal, Sajwal, Gurah Manhasan, Deora and Dhanpur, Hamirpur kona, Takwal, Pindi Phagwari, Kaijwan, N.S. Pura in Pargwal area. For early completion of Rs. 8.50 crore double lane road under PMGSY from Sua No. 1 to Hamirpur Kona, Mr. Tara Chand said that this project would be completed within the stipulated time frame and this double lane would make possible carrying material to mandis in the shortage possible time. In the public darbars, people of various villages putforth their demands including upgradation of Girls Middle School Pargwal to High School, filling up of vacant posts of teachers, masters and lecturers, compound wall for HSS Pargwal, Model village for Narsingh Pura and Pargwal, Tubewell, electric poles, BPL Ration cards, pension for widows, IAY benefits etc. The Deputy Chief Minister listened to them patiently and gave on spot instructions to the concerned officers for their early redressal and assured them that their demands would be fulfilled soon. He said that government is committed to provide every basic amenities at their doorsteps. He said that comprehensive plans are in the pipeline for the provision of adequate power supply to border areas and a double capacity receiving station would be installed soon. Mr. Tara Chand said that Education is an important sector and a number of schools have been constructed and upgraded under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan and employment under it as Rehbar-e-Talim was given to so many youths. He said that under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan lecturers and teachers will be engaged and infrastructure of high and higher secondary schools will be improved. The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the past 20 months period of present government unprecedented development has been witnessed in the state. He said that during this period several roads and bridges projects have been taken in hand in Pargwal Island for the development of the area. He asked the executing agencies to make optimum use of funds and complete the projects in a time bound manner. Mr. Tara Chand said that a number of youth has been absorbed in government jobs and efforts are on foot to reduce unemployment in the state. On the occasion, he also handed over confirmation orders to 5 ReT who have completed five years regular service. SDM, Akhnoor, various sectoral officers and ex-panches and sarpanches were also present on the occasion.
