| “Jammu at Crossroads-The Road Ahead” | | POF seminar | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 26:Public Opinion Forum (POF), a non–political and non–profit organization; held a seminar “Jammu at Crossroads – The Road Ahead” here today. The title was apt keeping in view the recent developments in Kashmir valley in particular and the J&K State as whole; which culminated in the visit by the All Party Delegation of Parliamentarians trying to ascertain the views of the people of Jammu & Kashmir on how to solve this vexed problem of 63years. Editor in Chief State Times Raj Daluja was the Chief Guest and the eminent speakers were – Er Daya Sagar Sharma; Sant Kumar; Advocate Sheikh Shakeel, Dr Ashwani Charungoo and Prof Virender Gupta. The seminar was presided over by Chairman POF – Dr Satya Dev Gupta and conducted by Dr Dushyant Choudhary – General Secretary POF. Speaking on the occasion, Er Daya Sagar Sharma brought out the history of the sufferings of the people of Jammu right onwards from the Partition days of 1947 and also highlighted the fact that there has been no settlement of the POJK refugees who migrated to Jammu during those times. Addressing the gathering, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel also came out strongly against the policies of the successive State and Central Governments towards the needs of the people of Jammu province Dr Ashwani Charungoo, President Panun Kashmir came out very strongly against the recently announced Kashmir Centric package in the aftermath of the visit of All Party Delegation. The announcement of Rs 5 lakh to all the deceased in the present agitation shows utter disregard to all those who lost their lives in the peaceful agitation of Amarnath Land row in 2008 in Jammu region. Prof Virender Gupta cautioned everyone that all the political leaders of the country want to only satisfy the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and are ever ready to sacrifice the interests of the people of Jammu region & also the national interests. This is only because of a lack of political maturity and the right vision in the people of Jammu province and their leaders, who have always failed to project their genuine grievances.
