| Cong hails Centre’s package for Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Sept 27: Krishan Lal Gupta, State Secretary, Jammu Pradesh Congress Committee at a meeting of the commerce party Office bearers has congratulated Primer Minister S.S.man Mohan Singh, AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister P. Chitambram and J&K President Saif-U-Din Soz for the decision taken by the cabinet committee on security (CCS) regarding Jammu & Kashmir. Gupta said that 8-confidence building measures which contained request to the state government to take immediate steps to reopen all school, colleges, universities and other educational institutions will save the precious year of the students. He also hailed the direction to immediately release all students and youth detained or arrested and review the cases of all PSA detained and ex-gratia to the families of the deceased persons and Rs 100 crores additional Central assistance for the improvement of addition to the existing infrastructure is really appreciable. All other office bearers welcomed the decision of appointment of two special task forces, one each for Jammu region and Ladakh region to examine the developmental needs of the two regions. Krishan Lal Gupta said that all traders industrialists and all other people connected with the tour and travels business in Jammu region, who have suffered a lot due to the Kashmir turmoil should also be suitably compensative by the Central and state government.
