| 104 deaths in summer 2010, FIR registered in all cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Sep 27 : As many as 104 people were killed in firing, stone pelting and drowning incidents during the 2010 summer unrest in the Kashmir valley. According to official figures available here, 92 people, who were part of the violent mob and protests during last year's summer unrest between June and October 31, 2010, were injured during the turmoil and subsequently succumbed to their injuries.
It said similarly 12 people also died during the same period due to various reasons, including stone pelting, stampede, blast and drowning.
The official records claimed that FIRs have been registered in all these incidents and investigation was on.
However, challan against some police officials, allegedly involved in the killing of four youths in Anantnag, has been produced in the competent court of law.
The government has also appointed a two-member judicial commission of inquiry comprising Justice (retd) Syed Bashir Uddin, chairman and Justice (retd) Y P Nargotra member.
