BJP leader encroaches forestland in Sunjwan
Anti-encroachment drive fizzles out

Avinash Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 15: Exposing government's so-called drive against forestland encroachers, another BJP leader has encroached upon several kanals of land in Sunjwan area and started construction work on it. After reshuffle in portfolio under Chief Ministership of Mehbooba Mufti, the Forest Department has turned a blind eye towards encroachment on forestland in the state. In the last incident, the encroacher belongs to coalition partner BJP. The Forest Department, sources said, has given a free hand to the influential leader to start construction. The anti-encroachment drive came in force during previous Former Minister Bali Bhagat's tenure, and thousands of kanal of encroached forestland was retrieved during the drive. "But the change of guard after former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's death proved golden opportunity for encroachers, and they begun construction on illegally grabbed land.
