Jammu, Nov 15: Exposing government's so-called drive against forestland encroachers, another BJP leader has encroached upon several kanals of land in Sunjwan area and started construction work on it.
After reshuffle in portfolio under Chief Ministership of Mehbooba Mufti, the Forest Department has turned a blind eye towards encroachment on forestland in the state.
In the last incident, the encroacher belongs to coalition partner BJP. The Forest Department, sources said, has given a free hand to the influential leader to start construction.
The anti-encroachment drive came in force during previous Former Minister Bali Bhagat's tenure, and thousands of kanal of encroached forestland was retrieved during the drive.
"But the change of guard after former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's death proved golden opportunity for encroachers, and they begun construction on illegally grabbed land. sunderbani, Nov 15: Almost two months on since some political workers from the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) made a murderous attack on a whistleblower in this Tehsil of Rajouri district, the police is dilly-dallying the filing of the charge sheet before the court only to allegedly safeguard interests of the ruling party henchmen.
Highly placed sources in police said the SHO Sunderbani has been deliberately delaying the submission of the charge sheet as he is under "political pressure" to delete atleast two names from the list of accused who attacked the whistleblower, a prominent resident of the area.

rajouri, Nov 15: A Gram Sevak working in Sunderbani here has been transferred within two months of his posting, only because his presence was hindering corruption.
In August this year Happy Raina, a Gram Sevak or Block Level Worker (BLW) was transferred to Sunderbani for execution of works under the MNREGA. While the villagers were satisfied with his work, his honesty proved an eyesore for the BJP workers who are already under scanner for bungling in the execution of MNREGA projects in the area.
Sources said the BJP workers called on the Block Development Officer concerned asking him to "get rid of the man how was proving a hindrance in their nefarious designs."
