Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 5: As only two weeks are left for polling on the prestigious Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, this parliamentary constituency is again witnessing fierce battle between two Rajputs. Although Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) candidate G M Saroori is also in the fray, the real fight is between sitting Lok Sabha member and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Congress candidate Choudhary Lal Singh. The prestigious Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat is witnessing a fierce electoral battle among candidates belonging to the ‘warrior clan’. An official handout said that the ACB team received an online complaint from a resident of Machhedi alleging that Patwari Gulshan Singh has been demanding a Rs 5,000 bribe for issuing a Virsati Inteqal mutation and legal heir certificate. India removes export curbs for Maldives

NEW DELHI, Apr 5: India on Friday removed export curbs on specified quantity of certain commodities such as eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, and dal for Maldives during the current fiscal year. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in a notification said these exports have been permitted to Maldives under bilateral trade agreement between the countries during 2024-25. “Export of eggs, potatoes, onions, rice, wheat flour, sugar, dal, stone aggregate and river sand have been permitted to Maldives… The export of these items to Maldives will be exempted from any existing or future restriction/prohibition on export,” the DGFT said.
