Government gives Rs 3.87 lakh relief to strike victims
10/21/2016 11:30:42 PM

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Government today sanctioned a relief of Rs 3.87 lakhs to three auto-rickshaw owners, whose vehicles were set ablaze by miscreants for defying the separatist-sponsored strike.
"The Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 1.29 lakh each in favor of the three affected persons to enable them to purchase new vehicles and earn their livelihood," an official spokesman said.
On October 4, some miscreants had set ablaze three auto rickshaws here. The government had announced that the case shall be considered sympathetically for adequate relief to the vehicle owners in order to enable them to earn their livelihood. Kashmir is on the boil since July 9 following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter with security forces. The unrest, spearheaded by separatists, has left 85 persons, including two policemen dead and thousands of others injured.
