KVIB under BJP minister brazenly challenges NDA Govt's directions
10/22/2016 10:58:56 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 22: In what can be seen as openly challenging the directions of the Narendra Modi led NDA government at Centre, J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board, of which a senior BJP leader is the minister has started a new trend in its employment policy on its own. Leave alone doing away with the system of interviews in the jobs, the KVIB has increased the percentage of the marks by 10 percent contrary to what is followed in routine. In a new, the Board has also kept 10 % marks for those having experience, something which is not seen in any department while taking new entrants on board against the vacancies.
Sources said in its recently advertised posts against several vacancies, while the KVIB has kept 60% marks for the written test, it has kept 30% marks for the interview which is not only in contrariety to the set practice of 20 % but also in violation of what the central government has repeatedly sought and asked the state governments to do away with the system of interviews for those who qualify the written tests as it breeds the corruption and allows nepotism, favoritism in final selection of the candidates at the cost of the meritorious ones.
Sources further said what is new in this advertisement is the provision of 'experience' tag in which it has been envisaged that those having experience shall be given the weightage of additional 10 % marks. Pertinently, whether it is highest recruiting body PSC or the SSRB, both have hitherto been giving weightage only for written test and interviews and there is no room for extra marks for experienced. Sources said while this provision has raised eyebrows and created huge confusion among the aspirants not holding any experience, it has also led to fresh wave of resentment against the ruling BJP for two reasons: one that the party has not been able to enforce the directions from the centre that interviews need not be held for jobs, second that this new trend has been started by a body which is being seen by the BJP minister who is either blissfully ignorant or openly violating the centre's directions. In this connection a letter has also gone to Chief Secretary of the state to ensure departments do not conduct any interviews while absorbing new people against various posts, sources further said.
