Jammu, Jan 27: Despite the Congress party's repeated criticism of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for not restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood, the National Conference on Monday clarified that it does not see any need for confrontation with the Union Government over the issue. Senior National Conference leader and MLA from Hazaratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, expressed optimism about the restoration of statehood, stating that it is a matter of process rather than immediate orders. Speaking to reporters, Sagar said, “National Conference remains confident that the Government of India, particularly the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, understand the importance of fulfilling the mandates necessary for restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood and special status.
