Early Times Report RAMBAN, Jan 27: Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Guest, Prof. Archana Kaul, Former Principal of the college, currently posted at GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and Prof. Satish Kumar, the Worthy Principal, followed by the singing of the national anthem by the students and staff. In her address, Prof. Archana Kaul emphasized the significance of Republic Day, marking the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950. She encouraged everyone to uphold the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. Prof. Satish Kumar, in his speech, stressed the importance of this day as a reminder of the duties of every citizen. "Let us resolve to uphold the principles of our Constitution-promoting equality, unity, and harmony," he said, honoring the sacrifices of the nation's soldiers, scientists, farmers, and workers. The event also featured cultural programs, including patriotic songs, dances, and skits by students and local artists, showcasing India's rich heritage and diversity. Special recognition was given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the community. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Political Science, followed by refreshments for all attendees, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and camaraderie. |
