JAMMU, Apr 2: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said that a total of 233 illegal commercial and residential structures have been identified in Jammu city in the last 13 months.
In reply to a question of BJP MLA Vikram Randhawa in the assembly, the government said the violations pertain to 122 residential structures, 107 commercial establishments, and four falling under mixed residential-commercial use.

Srinagar, Apr 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Wednesday informed the Assembly that more than 200 unauthorised constructions have been identified across key tourist destinations, with the highest number reported from Doodhpathri.
Replying to a query by PDP legislator Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, the government said that Tourism Development Authorities (TDAs) have initiated action in these cases, including sealing, demolition, imposition of penalties and issuance of notices. Srinagar, Apr 2: A driver lost his life while two others were injured in a road accident of school van near Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday.
Fortunately students escaped unhurt in the accident.
Officals said the driver identified as Javeed Ahmad, 47, a resident of Umair Abad, Bemina, was injured critically and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital.
Javeed Ahmad was driving a school van when he lost control opposite SSI Bank Lal Chowk, resulting in multiple grievous injuries. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, the official said.
