Srinagar, Apr 5: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has prayed for an outright dismissal of a petition challenging the existing reservation framework, stating that it is mischievous, frivolous in nature and has been filed with an intent to abuse judicial process.
In an affidavit filed by Jammu & Kashmir’s Social Welfare department in the High Court, the government has submitted that the writ petition deserves dismissal at the outset.

JAMMU, Apr 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended the Financial Assistance Schemes for West Pakistani Refugees (WPRs), and PoJK and Chhamb Refugees settled in the UT till March 2026.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that his government’s nod to four multi-tracking railway projects will improve connectivity infrastructure, boost convenience, reduce logistics costs and strengthen supply chains.
He was reacting to the Union Cabinet’s approval for four projects of the Ministry of Railways involving a total cost of about Rs 18,658 crore, a government press note said.
The four projects covering 15 districts in three states of Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 1,247 km.
