Steps underway to streamline public distribution system in J&K: Ramzan ‘SRTC Bus service from Reasi to Haridwar from next week’ | | | Early Times Report
POUNI (REASI): Minister for CA&PD and Transport Ch. Mohammad Ramzan said that Coalition Government are making every effort to stream line the public distribution system across the state and in this regard some land mark decisions has also been taken with best satisfaction of the people . The Minister said this at a mammoth public gathering at Pouni, Reasi this afternoon. The Minister said that facility of home delivery for LPG would be available to every consumer across the state by ending July this year adding that at this time cent percent facility is available in two cities of the state. He said now this facility are now been extended in major towns of the state and July end is the cut of date for rural populace. He said that additional gas agencies would be open in the State soon to provide this facility to the people at their doorstep. He said that stresses are being made to provide uniform ration to every eligible consumers particularly in rural areas for which directions has already been passed. Regarding the development of the area, the Minister said that coalition government led by Omar Abdullah has launched ambitious projects across the state to give further imputes to the development scenario of the state and hoped that after the completion of these projects would help to upgrade the socio economic profile of the people. Asking the people to come forward, Mr Ramzan said that the people’s cooperation is very much necessary for the development of the state adding that the role of Panchayat representatives is very much pivotal. He asked them to contribute in the development of the state for which the people of the respective areas as the people has reposed the trust on you. A deputation from Chasana also called the Minister and the Minister has taken on spot action against the ration dealer on the complaint of people for not giving ration. The Deputation also put forth some demands which include enhancement of widow pension, supply of ration, tehsil status to Pouni, upgradation of schools, hospital and generate of employment opportunities for the youth. Regarding the construction of food Godown at Pouni, the matter will be taken up with the Food Corporation of India, the Minister added. While responding to public demands, Minister also announces SRTC direct bus service from Reasi to Haridwar from next week and also added that SRTC is also starting inter district busses from Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in order to explore the tourist potential of the other area adjoining to Katra. Earlier the Minister in a review meeting of CA&PD and transport in the district headquarter directed the officers to adress the problems of common masses at the earlest. Regarding ration supply, he said that the ration supply in the respective area will be increased. The Minister also said that the only one identity proof is required for taking new gas connection. Ch. Ramzan asked the Director CA&PD to constitute a fly squad for market checking to ensure that consumers shall have facility of quality food. He also said that to setup a vigilance squad with assistance of sarpanches of respective areas for strengthening the distribution system. The Minister also inspected the Meteorological and Transport Departments to gear up their activities and frequent check of rate which fix for fare charges by the Government. MLA, Reasi, Mr. Baldev Raj Sharma along with Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Nirmal Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. R. S. Tara, Director CA&PD, Mr. G.S. Chib, MD SRTC, Mr. J.S. Tandon, Joint Commissioner Transport, Mr. Sheikh Fayaz also present in the meeting. |
