LPU organizes three day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp ‘STEP-GNDEC’ 2/4/2015 11:33:14 PM Agencies Jalandhar, Feb 4: Student Entrepreneurship Cell of Lovely Professional University is organizing three day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp ‘STEP-GNDEC’ at its Campus. Eminent speakers from the industry and top entrepreneurs will address and interact with the students during different sessions of the camp. Students will also be taken to different top industries to accord them practical know how about industry. Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Dr Om Gouri Dutt Sharma, Deputy Director General, Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar inaugurated the event by lighting of the lamp. LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal welcomed him and let him aware about the working of the student entrepreneurship cell (SEC) of the university. Mittal shared that at present 17 campus companies created by the students are running successfully at the campus: “As per PM Modi’s dreams, we are already encouraging our students to be service providers than to be service seekers. Our different departments are ever ready to give rational shape to the passionately conceived feasible ideas of the students. In this regard we provide mentorship, infrastructural support and logistics solution to convert students’ dreams into reality.” Appreciating the endeavours at the university, Dr Gauri Dutt Sharma congratulated students to be a part of the entrepreneurship awareness event which is a great opportunity for their future prospects. He advised them to always try to plan their goals for achieving new heights. Taking the examples of Doordarshan and present day electronic media houses, Dr Sharma told students to be socially awakened in their entrepreneurial projects.
