Danish appreciates Host college for promoting the cause of Dogri | NTM's translators' orientation programme concludes | | Early Times Report
udhampur, Feb 4: The week long Translator's Orientation Programme for Knowledge Text Translation in Dogri concluded today at Bhaskar Degree College Udhampur in which Danish Rana,(IPS), Director SKPA Udhampur was the Chief Guest whereas Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art, Cultural & Languages was guest of honor. The programme was organised by National Translation Mission, Central Institute of Indian Languages, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Orientation programme for Translators is a part of Translator Education Programme of NTM. Since translating knowledge texts require skills and orientation which are different from literary translation, NTM intends to introduce the aspiring translators for providing platform to different aspects of translation. In his address the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the host college promoting the cause of Dogri. He spoke He said that it is necessary to attract younger generation towards this language and culture by projecting its grandeur. He appreciated the efforts done by NTM towards translation of knowledge texts. He called it more as a "Art" and "to do in-verbatim is par-excellence," he added. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn Add. Secretary presented the valedictory speech where he stressed on more such programs. He expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Orientation Programme & the level of discussions on dynamic issues of translation. "We need to focus on our mother tongue as it brings us to love ourselves . He appreciated the efforts taken by the faculty and management of Bhaskar Degree College in organizing such innovative and exceptional programme . " Don't expect others to explore your identity, rather carry your identity with you,' he added. |
